Dance I- Beginning Dance
This is an introductory dance class. Various dance genres will be introduced through the study of technique, terminology, and performance. This class will also introduce strengthening and conditioning. Practical exams are given to prove dancers' knowledge and technical skill. Students will learn appropriate dance class etiquette. Specific dance attire required.
Prerequisite: None.
Performance fee required.

Dance II – Intermediate Dance
This class will build upon the fundamental techniques learned in Beginning Dance. Technique is advanced by challenging the student toward a greater level of clarity, detail, and specificity. Students will create, perform, respond and connect in the context of dance and personal application. Practical exams are given to prove dancers' knowledge and technical skill. Appropriate dance class etiquette is expected and reinforced. Specific dance attire required.
Prerequisite: Two semesters of beginning dance and/or teacher approval.
Performance fee required.

Dance III- Pre-Advanced Dance
The Pre-Advanced Dance class emphasizes the development of artistic choice. Students will be introduced to advanced technique from a variety of approaches to dance. Students will create, perform, respond and connect in dance through personal application and working with other dancers. Dance history is introduced. Students will gain a better understanding of how dance came to be and how it can influence them today. Practical exams are given to prove dancers' knowledge and technical skill. Students are expected to support and encourage appropriate dance class etiquette. Specific dance attire required.
Prerequisite: At least four semesters of Intermediate Dance and/or teacher approval.
Performance fee required.

Dance Company
The Dance Company class is by audition only. Students who are selected demonstrate a strong work ethic, good technical skill, a
contributing and positive attitude, and a passion for dance. Students will be challenged creatively and technically through a rigorous learning pace. Dance Company provides the opportunity for service, leadership, performance and travel. Seniors in Dance Company have the option to apply for the “Dance Distinction” award. Students are expected to be the highest example of dance class etiquette. Specific dance attire required.
Prerequisite: Teacher approval only.
Performance fee required.

Students may be required to purchase other items, such as tights or shoes, for the semester-end performance.

All students should have a two-pocket folder for collecting handouts and paperwork. Please label this folder for "dance".
